About AASC
From shared dinners to a national society.
What began as informal Arab-heritage gatherings at ACC 2023 and ACC 2024 became a formal community connecting Arab American cardiologists from residency through faculty life.
Our Story
It all began with annual ACC dinners.
The Arab American Society of Cardiology (AASC) emerged from informal gatherings of Arab American cardiologists at major conferences. It all began with the annual ACC dinners at #ACC2023 and #ACC2024 — moments where Arab-heritage cardiovascular specialists convened socially and recognized the strong desire for a more structured community.
In mid-2024, the Arab American Society of Cardiology was officially launched. By late 2024, AASC had grown to over 200 physician members in its network — connecting talents and shaping the future of Arab American physicians and researchers in cardiology.
In March 2025, AASC held its first inaugural meeting during the American College of Cardiology's 2025 Scientific Session (ACC.25 in Chicago) — a formal dinner and networking session attended by over 120 cardiologists and fellows. AASC members contributed 75+ research posters and presentations at the conference, described by participants as a moment of "pride, power, and purpose."
